Frequently asked questions

Answers for salon owners and independent artists. If yours isn't here, write to us and the partner team will get back to you.

Listing your salon

What do I need to list my salon?

Your mobile number for a one-time code, your salon's name, address and opening hours, your service menu with prices and durations, a bank account for settlements, and a few documents: an ID proof of the owner (PAN, Aadhaar, passport or driving licence), a business proof (GST certificate, shop and establishment licence, Udyam registration or trade licence), a cancelled cheque or passbook page, and at least three photos of your salon.

Do I have to finish in one go?

No. Every step is saved when you continue. Log in again with your mobile number or email and you will land on the step where you stopped.

What happens after I submit?

Our verification team checks your details and documents. If something needs fixing, we send the listing back with a note so you can correct it and resubmit. Once approved, your salon goes live and you get an SMS.

Is GST registration mandatory?

No. GST and PAN numbers are optional in the business step. For the business proof you can upload whichever document you have: GST certificate, shop and establishment licence, Udyam registration or trade licence.

Independent artists

I don't have a shop. Can I join?

Yes. Salonava is open to independent artists who work from a studio at home, travel to their customers, or both. You list your services, prices and hours the same way a salon does, and our team verifies your profile before it goes live.

Do I need GST registration?

No. What we need is one business or work proof. That can be a Udyam registration, a GST certificate, a trade licence, or a certificate from a professional course such as a makeup, mehendi or nail course.

How do home visits work?

When you set up where you work, you choose how far you are willing to travel and, if you like, a travel fee. Customers within that distance can then book you to come to them. You can offer home visits on their own or alongside your home studio.

What photos should I upload?

At least three clear photos of your own work: finished mehendi designs, nail sets, makeup looks or hairstyles. Daylight and a plain background work best. Please don't use photos downloaded from the internet; our team checks them during verification.

Can I offer both a home studio and home visits?

Yes. Choose both in the step about where you work. Customers can then book you at your studio or ask you to come to them.

How do I get paid?

Online payments from customers are settled to the bank account you add during sign-up. Account numbers are encrypted when stored, and only the last four digits are shown back to you.

Bookings and the salon day

Do I have to accept every online booking?

No. New bookings arrive as requests. You can accept, reject, reschedule or cancel them. Accepted bookings move through confirmed, service started and completed, and then payment.

Can I add walk-in customers?

Yes. Create a manual booking for any walk-in so your calendar, staff schedule and reports stay complete.

How do reminders reduce no-shows?

Customers get reminders before their appointment by SMS, WhatsApp, email or push notification, so fewer people forget and fewer chairs sit empty.

Can my staff use Salonava too?

Yes. Add your stylists and receptionists, assign the services each person offers, and manage their schedules and leave. Staff see and manage their own appointments.

Payments and payouts

Which payment methods are supported?

Cash, UPI, cards and wallets. Every appointment shows its payment status, so you always know what has been collected.

Why do you need my bank details?

Online payments made by your customers are settled to this account. Account numbers are encrypted when stored and only the last four digits are ever shown back to you.

For customers

When can customers book through Salonava?

The customer app for Android and iOS is being built now. Salons that list early will be ready to take bookings from day one.

Can customers leave reviews?

Yes. After a completed appointment customers can rate and review the salon, and you can reply to every review from your partner account.
